Which is why - as a precautionary measure - we are voluntarily recalling our ZonePerfect® Chocolate Caramel Cluster bars in connection with the widening recall of peanut ingredients manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). We are taking this action because peanut granules in these bars were sourced from the PCA plant in Plainview, Texas. We previously announced a recall of two of our other bars - ZonePerfect® Chocolate Peanut Butter and ZonePerfect® Peanut Toffee - because they contained peanut butter supplied by the PCA plant in Georgia.
No other ZonePerfect products are affected by this recall and we no longer use PCA as a supplier. Abbott Nutrition conducts extensive quality testing prior to distribution and we have no reason to believe there is a health or safety issue with the impacted bars.
As a division of Abbott - one of the world’s leading health care companies - Abbott Nutrition tests every lot of finished ZonePerfect bars for salmonella. This recall is purely a precautionary measure. The recalled products have not been linked to the salmonella outbreak. In fact, no salmonella contamination has been detected in any lots of ZonePerfect products.

Please know we are working closely with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to address the situation and diligently across our global network at Abbott to place fresh ZonePerfect Chocolate Peanut Butter bars on shelves beginning in mid-March and ZonePerfect Chocolate Caramel Cluster bars beginning in May.
We thank you for being patient while we work with our new supplier to make more nutrition bars - in a redesigned and simplified package that reflects the taste sensation waiting inside. We know you won't accept anything less than the same great taste and quality that are expected from ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars - and neither will we. Please look for the new package with new bars at grocery, drug, natural food and mass merchandise stores beginning in mid-March for Chocolate Peanut Butter and May for Chocolate Caramel Cluster.

When will Chocolate Peanut Butter be available again?
We are working diligently to place fresh ZonePerfect Chocolate Peanut Butter bars on shelves and expect the product to be in warehouse clubs beginning late February and in grocery, drug, natural food and mass merchandise stores beginning mid-March.
When will Chocolate Caramel Cluster be available again?
We expect ZonePerfect Chocolate Caramel Cluster bars to be on shelves beginning in May.
When will Peanut Toffee be available again?
The Peanut Toffee flavor has been discontinued, and it will be replaced by three new ZonePerfect Dark Chocolate flavors - Dark Chocolate Caramel Pecan, Dark Chocolate Mocha and Dark Chocolate Cookies n’ Creme.
How will I be able to tell the new bars from the old bars?
We will debut a redesigned package with the launch of the newly formulated bars. Please click here to see the old package and new package. We launched new packaging so that you, our consumers, will be secure in the knowledge that you are purchasing the newly formulated Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Caramel Cluster bars. Chocolate Peanut Butter will launch in mid-March and Chocolate Caramel Cluster will launch in May. You will see the new packaging roll out across the remaining flavors in the ZonePerfect line-up throughout the spring.
